Robert entered the United States Navy in September 2004 and, upon completion of technical training, was assigned to support Current, Future and Strike Operations during OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM-HORN OF AFRICA, -TRANS-SAHARA, -AFGHANISTAN and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. In the course of his duties, he was dual-hatted as assistant special security officer and assistant command security manager, overseeing the command’s Freedom of Information Act program, access control mechanisms, and the implementation of all military deception, personnel, information and operational security programs.
Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy in 2009, he directly supported the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction during the Obama Administration’s first Afghanistan and Pakistan Annual Review, followed by a challenging assignment with the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Business Transformation Agency.
From 2010 until 2013, Robert supported the Department of Defense and the Department of State as an independent contractor and joined the Asymmetric Studies Institute. Upon departing the Asymmetric Studies Institute in July 2013, he transitioned to consulting varied clients and regularly contributes to ClearanceJobs.com and the Center for International Maritime Security.
